BROWARD COUNTY MAN CLAIMS $500,000 MEGA MONEY™ JACKPOT TALLAHASSEE -- The Florida Lottery today announced that Peterson Acluche, 52, of Miramar, claimed the October 27, $500,000 MEGA MONEY™ jackpot. Acluche chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for his winnings in the amount of $351,705.25. The winning MEGA MONEY ticket was purchased at Skylake Citgo, located at 1590 N.E. Miami Gardens Drive in Miami. The retailer received a bonus incentive of $1,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. The winning numbers were: 04 - 11 - 12 - 16 and the MEGABALL® was 07 According to Acluche, he found out he won two days after the drawing when he checked his numbers. "My wife didn't believe me at first," he said, "She only believed me when she saw the numbers on the computer." Acluche plans to use his winnings to buy his wife the car of her dreams and help his fellow church members. The Florida Lottery's MEGA MONEY game includes the following features:
Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated more than $294,000 for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF). Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to the EETF, benefiting our students and schools, as well as funding more than one million Bright Futures scholarships. By a two-to-one margin, Florida voters in 1986 approved a constitutional amendment authorizing the state to operate a lottery for the purpose of generating significant additional moneys for education.
