PLANT CITY MAN CLAIMS $1 MILLION MEGA MILLIONS®
PRIZE ON BEHALF OF OFFICE POOL
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that Christopher Matches, 49, of Plant City, claimed a $1 million MEGA MILLIONS® prize from the drawing held on Friday, September 14, 2018. The winning Quick Pick ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers, but did not match the Mega Ball.
Matches bought the ticket as part of an office pool with 26 of his coworkers. "We've been playing the big jackpots on and off for over 20 years!"
Matches purchased the ticket at Speedway, located at 1950 Jefferson Street in Brooksville. The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus commission for selling the $1 million MEGA MILLIONS ticket. Total ticket sales for this series of MEGA MILLIONS rollovers generated more than $12.2 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
Since joining MEGA MILLIONS in 2013, the game has generated more than $369 million for education, and has awarded more than $614 million in prizes to 42 million players. The next MEGA MILLIONS drawing will be held tonight, September 21, at 11:00 p.m. ET with an estimated $275 million jackpot.
