How to Play

a step-by-step guide to your game

Powerball just got more powerful. Featuring more days to play and more ways to win.

With a new Monday draw, Powerball drawings are now held on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

Just think: three drawings per week means more chances to win. On top of more draw days, you can now add Double Play to your purchase for just $1. Double Play allows you to play your numbers again in an additional drawing following Powerball for the chance to win cash prizes up to $10 million.

To make it even more exciting, the Double Play drawing will be available for viewing via live stream, which will take place after the normal Powerball broadcast drawing.

While these new enhancements are exciting, the popular Power Play add-on will still be available for $1 to multiply your non-jackpot winnings in the Powerball drawing.

With more days to play and more ways to win, play Powerball, now with Double Play.

Playing Powerball

  1. Get your playslip

Visit any Florida Lottery retail location for a paper playslip to choose your numbers. Every Powerball playslip allows you to play up to five panels, with each panel equaling one ticket. Tickets may be purchased until 10:00 p.m., Eastern Time, on the night of the drawing. Tickets purchased after that time will be for the next drawing.

  2. Mark your panels

Choose a panel and select five numbers from 1 through 69. Then, select your Powerball number from 1 through 26 in the lower play area. You can also mark the QP box (Quick Pick) in either panel and let the terminal pick some or all of your numbers at random.

  3. Choose your add-on's

Select the Power Play box on the left side of your playslip to multiply your non-jackpot winnings for just $1. Five matching white balls will yield $2 million in winnings with Power Play. And a randomly selected multiplier identified immediately before the draw will boost non-jackpot winnings by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X. If the jackpot is $150 million or lower, a 10X multiplier is included.

Select Double Play on the left side of your playslip to boost your chances of winning cash prizes by adding just $1. The Double Play drawing occurs immediately after the Powerball drawing and uses the same numbers on your ticket.

    Save time with Advanced Play

To play the same numbers for more than one draw, select the number of advance draws you wish to play in the Advance Play section at the top of your playslip. If you claim a prize on a winning Advance Play ticket before all of the draws on the ticket have occurred, you will be issued a continuation ticket for the remaining draws with the same play numbers as the original ticket.

  4. Submit your playslip

Submit your playslip to your Florida Lottery retailer and receive your official printed Powerball ticket with your numbers, draw date(s), and any add-ons. You’ll need this ticket to claim any prizes, so keep it safe!

Did you know you can download and use the Florida Lottery app to play any of our draw games?

Our app lets you create and save your favorite numbers on digital playslips. Simply have your retailer scan the app and print your paper ticket and you’re good to go. It's that easy! Download on the App Store or Google Play.

Powerball®

Double Play®

Prior to the official Powerball drawing conducted by MUSL, a Power Play multiplier number (between 2 and 5; 10 is included when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less) is selected and will be displayed during the draw, in which five out of 69 numbers (white balls) and a Powerball number between 1 and 26 (red ball) will be drawn at random. There are nine ways to win Powerball prizes by matching the winning numbers drawn in the official drawing for the date played. Match all five numbers plus the Powerball to win the jackpot or match any of the non-jackpot-winning combinations to win other great cash prizes!

All Powerball prizes are set payouts, except the jackpot. The jackpot prize will be shared among winners in all Powerball states. The jackpot will be paid in 30 annual payments or a one-time cash payment of a reduced amount. If there is no jackpot winner, the money in the jackpot pool rolls over to the next Powerball drawing.

All Powerball prizes must be claimed in the state where the ticket was purchased. Powerball prizes must be claimed within 180 days after the winning drawing date. Federal income taxes will be withheld from Powerball prizes as required by the Internal Revenue Code at the time payments are made. Any additional federal, state and/or local taxes shall be the responsibility of the winner. Prizes of up to $1 million may be claimed at a Florida Lottery district office. Prizes of more than $1 million must be claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. Read more about claiming Lottery prizes.
